The dark matter problem is one of the most important subjects for nature
science. Now, various direct dark matter search experiments are running in
underground laboratory of the world, and those experiments are aiming to
observe the annual modulation signals by using calorimetric detectors.
However, recent situation in this society seems like chaotic, because some
groups claim the positive results in narrow cross section regions.
Especially, DAMA/LIBRA results which observed the clear annual modulation
with about 9σ significance attract us. In contrast some groups insist the
negative results in this region.
For such chaotic situation, another experiments with different
systematic are required, and the effective method is the directional dark
matter search.
Current experiments aiming the directional dark matter search are R&D
stage, and the mostly of directional dark matter search groups are using
gaseous detectors. However, we are advancing the R&D using the quite new
nuclear emulsion detector which is solid detector targeted the
spin-independent search required large mass detector.
In this talk, I will report about the status of direct dark matter
search and emulsion project.
