On November 15, 2019, Nagoya University held a symposium to celebrate the establishment of the Institutes for Advanced Research Excellence (IARE).

In October, Nagoya University decided to establish the Institutes for Advanced Research Excellence (IARE) in order to boost basic research. In recognition of its ongoing contribution to basic research excellence at Nagoya University, KMI was selected to be an IARE center, along with the Institute of Transformative Bio-Molecules (ITbM) and the Institute for Advanced Research (IAR). As an IARE center, KMI will expand its contribution to the development of excellent research at Nagoya University. 

In the symposium, Prof. Hirosi Ooguri, the director of Kavli Institute for the Physics and Mathematics of the Universe (IPMU) was invited and gave a talk about their efforts of creating the international organization and promotion of interdisciplinary researches. From KMI, Prof. Junji Hisano introduced our organization and recent achievement.
