Hunting the WIMP: The path towards the ultimate direct detection experiment
Dr. Adam Brown, University of Freiburg

Even after decades of searches, liquid xenon remains the top choice target for experiments searching for direct interactions of dark matter, particularly weakly interacting massive particles, or WIMPs. I will talk about what makes xenon so attractive and see the status of and latest results from XENONnT, a cutting-edge experiment. I will then look to the future and discuss how a future experiment like DARWIN or XLZD will be much more sensitive still, what some of the main challenges are, and some of the R&D that is underway to overcome those challenges.
