Dark Matter Detection via the Excitation of Qubits
Place: ES635& ZOOM
Abstract: I first give a brief overview of dark-matter physics from particle-physics points of view. Then, I would like to present our recent proposal for detecting a certain type of dark matter using qubits. In the case of hidden-photon dark matter, for example, its oscillation induces an effective electric field which becomes the driving force to excite the qubit. I will explain how the excitation rate of the qubit is calculated and discuss the detection method of the hidden-photon dark matter. I will show that the search of our proposal has good sensitivity and that it can probe parameter region which has not been explored yet.
