Abstract:In models of axion dark matter one typically distinguishes between two scenarios, with the Peccei-Quinn symmetry broken either before or after inflation. What happens if the Hubble scale of inflation is very low, lower than the axion mass? I will address this question, considering a model in which the axion mixes kinetically with the inflaton.
