Informal Seminar: Ed Bennett (Swansea University): First results for SU(2) Yang-Mills with one adjoint Dirac Fermion
We will have a seminar by Ed Bennett (Swansea University), who will be visiting the KMI
for a week from Sept. 9th. The seminar starts from 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 10th.
We expect it to be rather informal so that we can freely have discussions during the talk.
We welcome anyone who is interested in the topic.
Speaker: Ed Bennett (Swansea University)

Title: First results for SU(2) Yang-Mills with one adjoint Dirac Fermion
Abstract: We present the first exploratory results for the SU(2) gauge theory
with one Dirac flavour in the adjoint representation. We provide initial results
for the spectroscopy, static potential and the anomalous dimension for the
fermionic condensate. We also look at topological observables (the topological
susceptibility and the instanton size distribution) in comparison with the
two-flavour theory (Minimal Walking Technicolor) and the pure gauge theory.
Our results indicate that the theory is conformal or near-conformal with a
fermionic anomalous dimension of order ~O(1). These findings are relevant for
walking technicolor scenarios.
