1. Scientific Program (talks/posters)

The conference will start at 13:00 on Thursday, January 5th and end at 13:20 on Saturday, January 7th. The poster session will be held in the evening on Thursday, January 5th, from 19:00 to 21:00.

2. Registration

The registration starts at 12:00 on Thursday, January 5th. Please pick up your name card and a conference bag, which contains a book of abstracts & information, and other documents. The registration fee is 5,000yen for staff and free for others.

3. Conference venue

  • All the plenary sessions will be held at ES Hall on the ground floor of the ES Building at Nagoya University, Higashiyama campus.
  • The poster session (January 5, 19:00-21:00) will be held in the lobby of the Sakata-Hirata hall on the ground floor of the Science South building.
  • The banquet (January 6, 19:00-21:00) will be held on the ground floor of the Noyori Conference Hall.

5. Information for Speakers

We will prepare a PC for presentations, which accept PDF and PowerPoint. In order to avoid wasting valuable time, we kindly request each speaker to upload his/her slides to the corresponding slot on the INDICO page, one day before the talk. The INDICO modification key will be announced to speakers by an email. Alternatively, you can also transfer your slide file using USB. If you need any assistance, please ask one of the conference staff.

6. Information for Poster Presenters

The poster session starts at 19:00 on Thursday 5 January 2017 in the lobby of the Sakata-Hirata Hall on the ground floor of the Science South building. A poster should be prepared in A0 format (about 1189 mm height and 841 mm width). After the plenary session ends at 18:25, please put your poster on the poster board on which a unique number, your name and the title of your poster are labeled. The number can be found in the book of abstracts given at the registration desk. The conference secretariat will provide pins to fix the poster to the poster board at Sakata-Hirata Hall.

7. Proceedings

The proceedings will be published through PoS-Proceedings of Science by SiSSA. The speakers are requested to submit their typescript to us not later than March 31, 2017. Detailed instruction for the typescript will be given to the speakers at the conference.

8. Network service

Nagoya University provides a wireless network system for the guests. You can connect SSID "nuwnet". When you start a browser, you will be asked Username and Password. They can be found on your name tag. Connection via "eduroam" is also available.

9. General Information

  • Poster Session Dinner (buffet-style) will be served during the poster session (19:00-21:00) on January 5.

  • Banquet: All participants and the accompanying persons are invited to the Banquet to be held on the ground floor of the Noyori Conference Hall. The banquet will start 19:00, January 6.

  • Lunch: participants are asked to take lunch by themselves. There are cafeterias, some restaurants and cafes. Please see the campus map in the conference bag.

  • No currency exchange is available in and near the campus. Therefore, we suggest you to exchange currency at the airport. Note that credit cards are not widely used in Japan. They can be used at most of hotels, at major stores and at JR stations, but they may not be accepted at small shops, subway stations etc. There is an ATM machine near the Post Office (see campus map), by which you can get cash using a credit card.

  • Smoking is prohibited in the campus excepted for limited smoking area. See the campus map ;

10. Weather

The climate is usually cold in Nagoya in January. The temperature ranges from 0 (min.) to 10 (max.) degrees Celsius. You are suggested to wear warm enough clothes and coat. We are afraid that there will be no cloak service. On January 7, we will make a temporary storage place for your large luggage.
