Abstract:

The Time-Of-Propagation (TOP) counter is a novel device of particle identification for the Belle II experiment, the next generation B-factory experiment. The main component of this detector is a quartz bar; propagation time of Cherenkov light emitted by a charged particle is measured with 50-ps timing resolution for each photon
and its timing distribution is evaluated to identify the particle. We completed the module production, operation test and installation into the Belle II detector structure this year. We will discuss the status and the prospect of this detector.
