Abstract:
We calculate the emission rate of dilatons in an equilibrating strongly coupled 3+1 dimensional plasma. This process is holographically dual to the emission of Hawking radiation from an equilibrating black brane.  To monitor the approach to equilibrium we examine the validity of the fluctuation dissipation theorem in the equilibrating background.
