{"id":987,"date":"2016-06-01T10:21:30","date_gmt":"2016-06-01T01:21:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kmi.nagoya-u.ac.jp\/eng\/seminar\/987\/"},"modified":"2016-06-01T10:21:30","modified_gmt":"2016-06-01T01:21:30","slug":"the_worlds_first_muon_linac_towards_the_j-parc_g-2edm_experiment","status":"publish","type":"seminar","link":"https:\/\/www.kmi.nagoya-u.ac.jp\/eng\/seminar\/987\/","title":{"rendered":"The World&#8217;s First Muon Linac towards the J-PARC g-2\/EDM Experiment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span>There is a ~3 sigma discrepancy in the muon anomalous magnetic moment <\/span><span>(g-2) between the measured value at BNL E821[1] and the Standard Model <\/span><span>(SM) prediction. <\/span><span>In order to cast light on beyond the SM, further investigations are necessary. <\/span><span>The E34 experiment at J-PARC[2] aims to measure the muon g-2 with a <\/span><span>precision of 0.1 ppm by utilizing newly developed novel technique of <\/span><span>the low emittance muon beam. <\/span><span>One of the key components to achieve the low emittance muon beam is <\/span><span>the muon linear accelerator (linac)[3] which will be first case in the world. <\/span><span>In addition, the substantial emittance growth during the acceleration <\/span><span>should be prevented to satisfy the experimental requirements.<\/span><br \/><span>In this talk, the muon linac design[4] and current status will be <\/span><span>presented after short introduction to the muon g-2 experiment and linac.<\/span><br \/><span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>References:<\/span><br \/><span>[1] G.W.
