After revisiting the Bayesian foundations underlying Kalman filtering, the discussion will illustrate how these principles naturally extend across diverse estimation problems, including spacecraft navigation, launch and flyby trajectory estimation, interacting multiple-model (IMM) filtering, and scientific reconstruction. Finally, the seminar will explore how probabilistic state estimation and modern AI can be combined to develop physics-driven learning algorithms that preserve uncertainty propagation, statistical consistency, and physical constraints.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"template":"","tags":[],"seminar_category":[155],"class_list":["post-3589","seminar","type-seminar","status-publish","hentry","seminar_category-ai4kmi"],"acf":{"s_now_accepting":true,"s_date_order":"2026-07-23 17:00:00","s_date_end":"2026-07-23 18:00:00","s_date_text":"17:00 - 18:00","s_text":"Marco Meyer-Conde (Tokyo City University)","s_place":"ES635 + Zoom","s_place_other":"","s_categoryother":"","s_poster":"","s_poster2":"","s_slide":""},"yoast_head":"\n
KalmanAI: Statistical Intelligence for AI-Assisted Scientific Reconstruction - KMI - Nagoya University<\/title>\n<meta name=\"robots\" content=\"index, follow, max-snippet:-1, max-image-preview:large, max-video-preview:-1\" \/>\n<link rel=\"canonical\" href=\"https:\/\/www.kmi.nagoya-u.ac.jp\/eng\/seminar\/3589\/\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:locale\" content=\"en_US\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:type\" content=\"article\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:title\" content=\"KalmanAI: Statistical Intelligence for AI-Assisted Scientific Reconstruction - KMI - Nagoya University\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:description\" content=\"Statistical inference has long provided the foundation for scientific reconstruction, enabling principled estimation and uncertainty propagation across a wide range of applications.
