Tau leptons, as the heaviest known leptons, offer a unique window into these puzzles and potential new interactions preferentially coupled to third-generation fermions.
In this talk, I will present an overview of my group’s research at the CMS experiment pursuing this direction. I will cover indirect new physics searches through a measurement of the Bs → tau tau branching ratio using tt̄ events, achieving a sensitivity competitive with B-factory experiment. I will also present an innovative L1 scouting approach enabled by the HL-LHC track-finder upgrade; by clustering these tracks to reconstruct tau and boosted di-tau candidates in real time at 40 MHz and storing only their limited kinematic information, this approach unlocks full bunch-crossing analyses for the first time.
Finally, if time allows, I will discuss our group’s activities toward FCCee, the next-generation flagship collider experiment just accepted by the CERN Council, covering physics case studies and future silicon detector development.

B<sub>s</sub> -> τ
