Recently, several lattice QCD studies hint that the transition can be of second order in the whole range of flavor numbers, after all. In this talk, I reanalyze the renormalization group flows of the Ginzburg-Landau potential using the functional renormalization group technique. Instead of employing the epsilon expansion around d = 4, with the inclusion of all (perturbatively) relevant and marginal interactions directly in d = 3, the method predicts that there exist new fixed points in the whole flavor number range, potentially belonging to conformal systems going through a finite-temperature chiral transition. The results indicate that the chiral transition can be of second order for N_f >= 5, while its nature depends on the strength of the U_A(1) anomaly for N_f = 2,3,4.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"template":"","tags":[],"seminar_category":[53],"acf":{"s_now_accepting":true,"s_date_order":"2024-07-26 14:00:00","s_date_end":null,"s_date_text":"15:00 - 16:00","s_text":"Gergely Fejos (Eotvos Lorand University)","s_place":"ES635","s_place_other":"","s_categoryother":"","s_poster":"","s_poster2":"","s_slide":""},"yoast_head":"\n
Order of the chiral phase transition for N_f flavors in the chiral limit - KMI - Nagoya University<\/title>\n<meta name=\"robots\" content=\"index, follow, max-snippet:-1, max-image-preview:large, max-video-preview:-1\" \/>\n<link rel=\"canonical\" href=\"https:\/\/www.kmi.nagoya-u.ac.jp\/eng\/seminar\/3171\/\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:locale\" content=\"en_US\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:type\" content=\"article\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:title\" content=\"Order of the chiral phase transition for N_f flavors in the chiral limit - KMI - Nagoya University\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:description\" content=\"“KMI Visitor Seminar”
