{"id":2997,"date":"2023-11-27T10:22:20","date_gmt":"2023-11-27T01:22:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kmi.nagoya-u.ac.jp\/eng\/?post_type=seminar&#038;p=2997"},"modified":"2023-11-27T14:30:42","modified_gmt":"2023-11-27T05:30:42","slug":"probing-strong-gravity-when-gravity-waves","status":"publish","type":"seminar","link":"https:\/\/www.kmi.nagoya-u.ac.jp\/eng\/seminar\/2997\/","title":{"rendered":"Probing strong gravity when gravity waves"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The recent gravitational wave observations of the collision of black holes and neutron stars by the advanced LIGO and Virgo detectors have allowed us to pierce into the strong gravity regime, where the gravitational interaction is simultaneously unfathomably large and wildly dynamical.<\/p>\n<p>These gravitational waves encode a trove of information about physics that is prime for the taking, including potential revelations about the validity of Einstein&#8217;s theory and constraints of possible deviations in extreme astrophysical environments.
