</html><description>The Time-Of-Propagation (TOP) counter is a novel device of particle identification for the Belle II experiment, the next generation B-factory experiment. The main component of this detector is a quartz bar; propagation time of Cherenkov light emitted by a charged particle is measured with 50-ps timing resolution for each photon and its timing distribution is evaluated to identify the particle.
