Press release: CERN experiments observe particle consistent with long-sought Higgs boson｜Center for Experimental Studies: Kobayashi-Maskawa Institute for the Origin of Particles and the Universe (KMI), Nagoya University

ATLAS and CMS collaborations presented their preliminary results on the search for the Higgs particle. Both experiments observed a new particle of the mass of 125-126 GeV consistent with the Higgs particle. Determination of the precise nature of this particle would be an important next step for understanding mysteries of our universe.
